"After reading all the reviews for this dog bed, I ordered one for my dog, a 115lb great dane mix, who has had 2 surgeries for torn ACL in hind legs and was prefering the sofa to his old bed. Everyone was right on! My dog loves his new bed and is usually on it many times during the day! I am thrilled with the quality of this bed. I would recommend this bed to anyone, esp those with large dogs which have joint problems and need a good supportive bed! Thanks and thanks to those who wrote the other reviews!"

"Almost did not write this review because I want to order another and I am afraid they will sell out - but this is one terrific bed. My 2 Greyhounds and 2 Jack Russells all squeeze on the two I already ordered! Perfect for my elderly female grey who has very bad arthritis. Just remember to let the cushion sit for 24 hours before putting out - dogs will want to get on it right away and it needs time to "settle" into it's proper form."

"Our dog Amber has used this bed sparingly. She has slept on it a few nights, but is still getting adjusted to it. The bed is made very well and it has a nice monogram on it. I would definitely recommend it to a friend."

"My dog loves this. She is about 70 pounds and is a hound mix and has tons of room. Enjoys the bed and hasn't tried to eat it, which is a big deal for her. Compare that to our other dog's bed which is a cheapy (just ordered our Bean bed today), the cheap bed has holes at every corner where they have chewed it to pieces. Having the zipper hidden makes a big difference. Can't wait for the other bed!"

"We purchased the XL, which is only a foot or so smaller than a regular Full Size people bed! I can only compare how this lab sleeps on it vs. my older lab on different style beds. My older lab would get up in the middle of the night and reposition because the stuffing would get pushed to one side. The new 7 month old lab sleeps soundly all night. This bed is a solid 4" of high density foam before the egg crate portion starts. Buy two covers, as this dog bed can 2nd as a guest bed for the in-laws."

"This is a truly premium dog bed with quality and durability that justifies its cost. The materials, construction and features are vastly superior to other products I've found. My faithful 13.5 year old yellow Labrador Retriever immediately liked this bed. He has a neurological condition that makes it difficult for him to maintain a comfortable position. The L.L. Bean therapeutic dog bed now permits him uninterrupted sleep through the night and has helped to maintain his mobility.
Initial assembly requires letting the foam restore to its designed shape. This works best if left in a flat and moderately warm location for at least a day.
A suggested improvement is closer attention to the fit between cover and foam pad. The fit is very tight and it becomes even more difficult to reinstall the cover after washing per instructions. I suspect it will become necessary to trim the foam pad slightly if cover shrinkage progresses with use and washings. However, the generous bed sizing will enable adjustment with minor effect to functionality."

Bean's Best Bed Yet~!,

"I bought 2 of the Medium size Rectangular Theraputic Dog Beds. I have 2 German Short Haired Pointers. Gunner is 10, and Cash is 6. While both dogs are in excellent health I have noticed that Gunner becomes lame after a day of running and playing. You have to realize these dogs are fast a swift. They are in no way meant to be all around indoor dogs. I will also add that Gunner is Gun Shy so neither one of them are hunting dogs. But when they come outdoors with us they run and play non stop. I had nice dogs beds for them but it got to the point where Gunner would have to sleep on the my bed due to being so sore. This made it very uncomfortable for me. It got to the point where Either Gunner or Cash would eventually end up on my bed before the night was over. When I got these beds the Theraputic foam was flat. It took about 12 hours for the bed to maintain it's shape. I LOVE these beds and so do my dogs! You can actually step on this bed and when you take your foot off it comes right back to shape. I bought the Denim and it is very easy to keep clean. I run the vacumm cleaner over it. Both of my dogs curl up like cats when they sleep so the Medium is a perfect size for them. I have put a Down Throw on each of them for extra coziness. As I keep my room very cold because of my hotflashes. This bed has made a world of difference for My Gunner. His lamness no longer lasts for days. He is like New the very next morning waiting to go out and run around for another day. Also both Dogs STAY on their Bed's all night long. ( What a great relief for me! ) Kudos to LL Bean for making a Dog Bed that is so wonderful! I would highly recommend this bed for any and all large dog breeds. Even Medium to Smaller breeds. Oh and I must also mention that when the beds are not in use by my dogs my 2 cats make themselves very comfotable on them! These beds are by far the best investmant I have ever made concerning my Dogs comfort and Well Being. When you have a Senior Dog you want to do everything possible to keep their lives as normal as possible. My Vet is amazed at how Healthy Gunner and Cash are! This bed takes the pressure off of sore stiff joints, and distributes their weight evenly. I wish LL Bean would have made this bed years ago. When My Rottie was alive. As he spent all his sleep time on my bed when he got older due to his stiff joints and muscles. These beds actually keep my dogs off my new Leather furnture even!! Now that never used to be an easy task. Thank you LL Bean for the BEST DOG BED I have ever purchased. One year later the bed is as sturdy and comfortable for my dogs as it was the first night they slept on them~!!!! If you have a young Pup or Older dog this bed is the best thing since Sliced Bread~!!! Get it you won't be sorry and your Dog/Dogs will Love you for it. This Product gets an A++++++ from me! "I bought two L beds for my 55-60 lb Lab mixes. The size L is HUGE - enough room for both of them if they want to curl up together on one bed - but since I've bought these, they like to stretch out to sleep more than they used to! "I wanted thick memory foam beds for my two 100 Lb golden retrievers, but in a denim or canvas cover (they don't need fleece with their very heavy coats!). This bed is perfect! I had to use the "live chat" to ask how thick the foam would be, and the rep said it was determined by the size of the bed: a 'large' is 5" thick, XL is 6". I ordered the large (the perfect size for my 100lb golden who is 'short' but heavy) - and it is every bit of 5" thick. I only bought one- to see just how thick and comfortable it is- and I'll be ordering another one tonight! I laid on it myself with my 160 lbs and found the bed to be very comfortable...it may actually be nicer than my own pillow-top mattress! If it were a bit longer, I would sleep on it myself - no kidding! (I would suggest that that LLBean include the thickness of the foam in their description, so that customers would know how thick the beds are without having to bother customer service.) If you want to give your dog a thick, comfortable, theraputic bed this is it!"

"Although my 85 pound Rhodesian Ridgeback prefers my bed or any open couch, she does like this bed. She has really wirey hair and it does not show at all on the burlap cover. My 3 year old daughter constantly completes with my fur daughter for this bed. My only complaint is the monogramming which is very tone-on-tone, so it does not show well. It's not worth the extra money. I read the other reviews and agree that the sizes are a bit off-large is perfect for my 85 pound baby. Nice bed overall."

"This is a fantastic bed for my 7 year old lab with arthritis. She loves to sleep on it. This is my 2nd LL Bean bed - I returned the last insert because the insert was too slippery and she often slipped getting into her bed. This one is perfect and provides great support. One thing I would change is to find a solution to the problem of getting the foam part into the cover. I wash it frequently due to allergies and getting the cover back on is very tough! Maybe if there was a cloth cover over the foam? it would be easier? something to think about if you don't have a second pair of hands. Depsite this issue, I'd still buy this bed again - the LL BEan guarantee is always worth it!

"I bought 2 of these beds for 2 small terriers and they chewed thru both within 1 month of receiving. Our dogs don't normally chew but the corners of these beds seem to prove very tempting. I was very disappointed that these beds could not hold up to 2 small dogs, def not worth the price $225 all in for covers + inserts on 2 beds."

"I have a #70 Black Lab who is my service dog. Nixa is almost 7 years old and is starting to slow down a bit and show some signs of aging.
Since Nixa works very hard to keep me safe, I do everything I can to keep her in good health Especially when it comes to her bed.
I have tried other supposed therapeutic beds and none lived up to their promise, until now.
LLBean's Denim Therapeutic Dog Bed Set is the best dog bed every made. Nixa loves it. I have this bed in my bedroom and I cannot adequately explain the bed's positive effect on Nixa. I plan on ordering 2 more Therapeutic Dog Bed Sets to replace Nixa's other beds in the house.
While the bed is expensive, it is worth every penny. Even my cats like to sleep on the bed, next to Nixa.

"I have a 10 yr old black lab mix. While he doesn't have any problems with his joints, hips, etc... he does like sleeping on OUR bed. This bed solved the problem. I think it's more comfortable than our bed because he has no problem using this instead. Great product, well worth the expense!"
