"You know those tiny screwdrivers that come in eyeglasses adjustment sets? You'll need them to get the back off in order to put in the batteries. And then you'll have a heck of a time getting the screws back in. And, OK, it could just be these 50-year-old eyes, but I had a heck of a time trying to read the fine print in the read-outs. I finally got out a magnifying glass so that I could see where it said "Min" or "max" for the temperature predictions, and then to see where it toggled from seconds (on the clock) to the day of the week. And I don't know where it's getting its information from, but it was saying I'd have a sunny day on a day in which it was obviously cloudy and raining."

"This clock is hard to assemble, and has to be re-assembled every time you unpack it. It tells you the temperature and whether it is cloudy or sunny outside. LL Bean has much better travel alarm clocks with the temperature. As for whether or not it is sunny, look out the window!"

"Fine little device but but deceptively _not_ water proof, despite the seemingly all-weather wrapper. (Not for use on the family boat unless firmly secured in a dry spot: in fact, not at all sure how water resistant it actually is.) Aside from that, it is very accurate with the weather function, enough so to call a shower well before it actually strikes: very useful to have along."

"I bought this clock at the Freeport store in November 2008 when my watch battery ran low with no possibility for replacement. I was also interested in the temperature and humidity functions as well as the (absolutely necessary) alarm feature. The clock has run without a problem since, and has been very helpful on my travels. Based on my experience, I recently bought another to use to monitor conditions and use as a clock in our basement. Although adertized for travel, it fits the latter function just as well."

"Per the accompaning instructions, I attempted to place the batteries in the clock but had an extremely hard time removing the screws to the battery compartment. I finally suceeded in removing three of the four screws. I was unable to remove the fourth screw. I returned the clock for an exchange."

"good solid weather / barometer / clock / clock alarm....only two things in my opinion .... to get the stand at an angle is a little stiff.... would have been nicer to have a slide on battery compartment...those tiny screws are a little bit inconvient...otherwise great buy."

"although I did not recommend this item, it is for the most part good. The reason for the 'no' is one must have a very small phillips screwdriver to take the back off in order to install batteries. I had to go buy one. If the back slid off like most battery compartments, I would recommend it."

"I am not as pleased with this Travel Weather Alarm Clock as I am with the other LL Bean Travel Alarm Clock (Nightfinder). It is more difficult to set with the buttons on the back, etc. and the modes are not easy to determine. I like the weather feature, but given the two, I would get another Nightfinder."

"Has a solid feel. Seems like it will survive a suitcase trip. Nice to have the humidity and weather sign. Good design on the adjustable support in the back. Has snooze feature. Shows date and time. Haven't tested the alarm yet, but expect it is good."

"The barometric pressure readings via icons are very inaccurate and the the alarm is so low that my teenage daughter (who has better hearing than me) said it was a joke and would never hear it asleep and couldn't really hear it 10 ft away from the unit. The battery insertion requires a very small phillips screwdriver. The set up was ez enough but there were no instructions for timezone and one had to guess what the abbreviations meant. Don't buy!"

"LL Bean nicely traded my little travel alarm clock for one that has an audible alarm. The first one could barely be heard. It predicts weather quite accurately, tells you inside and outside temps and so tiny, it neatly fits in my purse when we travel."
