I was disappointed with the fact that the mattress needs to be pulled out from underneath the cot and put on top each time you open the cot for use. Additionally, the end legs should snap open to indicate that they are locked and will not fold inward when moved and in use. I bought two to use when guests come to visit but am hesitant to use them, especially because of the latter comment.
Went camping for an extended weekend and this cot was great. I'll never worry about an air mattress going flat in the middle of the night again! The springs are a little squeaky, but I bet some WD-40 can clear that up.
The cot folds in half for convenient storage and packing.
I really wanted to like this cot. I really, really did. But it was not for me in the end. I hoped all the good reviews would mean it would be a keeper. LL Bean made it easy to purchase, it's definitely well made, cleverly designed, the mattress is comfortable, and the size is adequate. But the fact that if you are a heavier person it really sags and is hard to get out of caused me to reject it for myself. I would love to know a kid or young person who could use it, but I don't. If you need firmer support, it might not be the best option.
