Very comfortable, I use it for tent camping (nice to be able to put gear UNDER the cot to save space, can't do this with an air mattress) and my kids use it at home for sleepovers. Cot does take up a lot of space in my van when transporting, but it's nice to get a good nights sleep upon arrival and set up. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the welding of the middle leg to the cross bar has twice come apart, prompting a return.
We have had four Swedish cots from L.L. Bean for years. We slept in them Saturday night, and they were just as comfortable as the first night we used them. I wish everything we've bought over the last 15 years had held up this well. The backpacks, bags, fly-fishing vests and other items that we have bought from Bean have held up really well.
I was looking for a cot, searched the LL Bean website and low and behold, I found a cot. All facetiousness aside, it's simple, light and effective. It doesn't sleep like a Sealy Posturepedic but it is greatly improved from being on the floor and more predictable than squishy aerobeds. I thought the price was reasonable given the design - time will tell on the reliability.
This cot is great - it takes up very little space for storage, is easy to set up and put away, and it's actually pretty comfortable to sleep on ( I weigh 130 lb, which might make a difference). Way better than an air mattress on the floor. I use it at the assisted living facility where my mother lives whenever she's sick. I'm glad I bought it.
