I purchased this so that I could sleep in sunroom when the weather is really nice. Had major back surgery four years ago and have had a real problem finding a bed that works for me with three rods and eight bolts in my spine. I used this the first night to try it out an have slept on it almost every night since. The springs combined with the foam to give me just the right support where I need it. My Temperpedic is firm and good but doesn't give me support where I need it. I am ordering another cot to use at the beach condo. The only problem I have had is that by using the cot every night the included foam mattress is becoming compressed and I am on the lookout for one that might be more durable. The cot would be considered soft but it is just right for me. I weigh 180 lbs. and the frame and springs seem very durable. I am so glad I found this. I have had the best rest that I have had in a long time. This cot seems to be replacing my regular bed!
-Setup is about 30 seconds -This cot far exceeded my expectations. -The metal springs make it as comfortable as a bed. -The Mattress is very comfortable -My only complaint, and it's not really one is that the legs will collapse if you push or pull when cot is setup. -The frame is powder coated so it should never rust and its light. -Plan to sew a 1' pocket on a twin sheet top and bottom that can slip over the mattress so it remains clean. -The height for sitting and getting up is ideal. -Use for taking naps and ideal for guests that get tipsy. No reason not to have one in the closet or keep in trunk, if you had a screened in porch and it was raining....
I bought this cot for camping, but of course when it arrived I set it up in the spare room to try it out. I woke up next morning refreshed and without a trace of lower back pain (which is chronic with me). I was worried that the middle support would bother me, but this isn't the case at all. My job involves a lot of lifting, and if my back is cranky at bedtime I now sleep on this cot. It really does help me. And now for camping! Last week I took a trip up to the White Mtns. Yes, the cot does take up more room in the car than an inflatable mattress, but what a difference it makes for sleeping. Instead of waking up every couple of hours trying to find a comfortable position, I slept right through the nights. Woke up refreshed and ready for the day's activities. Long story short, this isn't a cot--it's a portable bed, and a comfortable one at that. If you're looking for a cot, please skip the canvas ones and spend the extra bucks for this one. You won't regret it. The one 'improvement' I would suggest is that the manufacturer install two plastic 'clips' to clamp the folded cot together instead of one. The one provided does the job, but if it breaks, could I find another? Thanks Bean, for carrying this item. It's great.
I bought 3 of these - at least 5 years ago. I live in a large country house and often have family visiting. These cots are comfortable and long lasting. Everyone who has used one (including me!) thinks they're great!
