Oscar is a silky long haired dog whose hairy under paws accumulates snow/ice balls. Walks in winter were painful. Every day for the past 4 weeks Oscar has been wearing the booties. The first 5 minutes he did duck walk but quickly adjusted. He is eager to put them on and now loves running and jumping in the deep snow with his brother Dexter. They are easy to put on. Once on they stay on until I take them off. The buckles can freeze up when encrusted with snow but thaws quickly for easy removal.
I like them. They stayed on, yet not fully in place. My dog (a springer spaniel) used to stop almost immediately and bite the snow balls out of his feet. This would leave bloody snow balls and sore paws the next day. My dog is very easy going, but he adjusted with in 20 steps. The first 6 steps are always funny and resemble a dog walking on fly paper. Getting them on takes patience. The biggest problem is getting them off as snow seems to freeze in the buckles. I would go out on a limb to say he likes them as he runs like a mad man and drops and rolls and comes back to me running with a smile. A hard run in 2 feet of snow for over an hour on several occasions and they didn't even appear to come off. I am happy and wish I had gotten this product years ago.
I bought these boots for my lab. When I got them home and opened the bag my first impression was that they weren't shaped like a dog's foot, they were shaped more like a human foot with a clearly defined heel. I would have expected the heel to have some flex or shape, the way a dog's heel does. I tried to get them on my dog's foot, but it was extremely difficult to get past the heel and into the foot bed. Once I finally had all four of them on, my dog was not very happy. He was duck walking all over and trying to bite them off. I decided these just weren't right, though they are well made, they do not fit well.
boots did not stay on unless strap was extremely tight, they were huge, i bought then to protect my dog's feet from the sticker burrs that come out this time of year, they were just not heavy enough to protect from the burrs. i am sending them back as they don't work for me. i usually love all the bean products. they are great quality these just don't work
