We use these boots most everyday, & they hold up well to hard use & numerous washings. The only flaw is in the footbed. These boots fit more like a clown shoe. The footbed doesn't conform the dogs feet. We have a Lab & a Shepherd, & they end up duck-walking every evening. I haven't found any better boots, so these are the best of a poor lot.
These boots were bought for a Labrador Retriever according to the sizing instructions. The initial feel out of the bag is that they are great, I was excited to use them to help cover a pad injury.
However, they were very difficult to get on. There was no struggle from my dog, they just simply were awkward to place on the paw. Unfortunately, once we DID get the hang of it and get them on, tight as they could be, my dog was able to get them off within a matter of 30 seconds - just by walking around our wood floor.
I was hoping they would stay put, but if both of my dogs were able to walk them off in under 1 minute, I can't imagine they would last outside in rough terrain while they were running. I'm also concerned the fact that they did come off when as tight as possible (and they were very very tight for testing) might have lead to issues regarding the dog tripping on it and hurting their joints.
They weren't for protecting my dogs feet from snow and ice which was what I was hoping for. They are for hunting dogs and working dogs who run in the woods. They would protect the dogs feet against sticks and burrs. Was a bit sad to find that LLBean didn't carry a snow boot for my dog, but I got her a pair of Muttluks so she's all set.
These are the best fitting dog boots we have ever had for our lab. They are fairly easy to get on and they stay on very well. Some stickers/thorns will poke through but it is far better than going bootless. I had to purchase two sets because my lab has huge front feet and normal back feet, but now we have a backup set. I highly recommend these!
