I bought these boots to cover a foot injury, and for that they work just fine. They are not water proof or even water resistant, this was discovered after approximately 10 minutes of walking in wet grass (it was not raining at the time but had been earlier.) There is no "cushioning" on the bottom of the foot to protect from the ground or "harsh terrain", the bottom is a single layer of heavy canvass They do stay on the foot, even at high speeds and in tall grass. The bottom is fairly slippery on gravel, grass or while inside. I plan on applying an anti slip bottom to improve their performance, and apply some type of waterproofing. They will protect from salt on the road during the winter, and work well on flat road surfaces while out for a walk. They could use some improvements.
