This is the 4th L.L. Bean fishing shirt (as we call it) that I have purchased for my husband for a gift. They are so practical for layering for travel, roll up sleeves, wash and drip dry, perfect weight fabric. Keeps the sun off my husband's fair skin without making him hot. I have tried other brands, but none hold up like these. Hope they add more colors in the future.
I have tried nearly every fishing shirt on the market in the search for the perfect saltwater flyfishing garb. This shirt is the best. It's comfortable with great sun protection and the big bellows pockets are roomy enough to hold fly boxes and tippet spools without them poking me in the chest. The only knock I have against the shirt is that the material doesn't repel blood and bonefish slime as well as some other brands.
I purchased this shirt several years ago for a quick-drying, light weight shirt for backpacking and hiking. I used it last July for backpacking in Montana's Scapegoat Wilderness and was very pleased with the breathability in that arid climate. Fabulous for layering and the pocket space is excellent.
