I bought this shirt in light green to go deep sea fishing in La Paz Mexico in August. The temperatures were scorching and the humidity was just horrific. The shirt certainly protected me from sunburn but I was so hot and miserable from baking in the open sun all day long that I could not honestly say that the shirt was "comfortable". It certainly was not the magic solution to staying cool in intense tropical conditions that I hoped it might be. That said, I do think the shirt would be very comfortable to wear in less severe, summer conditions where protection from the sun's rays is needed. Just don't expect a miracle!
I like the fabric and fit. The flap over the pockets was very cleaver and keeps the pocket edge nice and smooth, no rolling or folding flap corners. Liked the color too.
Light weight, comfortable, true to sizing. Wonderful for all outdoor recreational activities as well as work related activities. Bought a size larger than my husband usually wears so there would be plenty of movement in any situation....crabbing, boating, weed eating, etc.
I have owned quite a few of these shirts since they were introduced at Bean. Great fit. Practical design. Price is very fair. I think they compare favorably with similar design shirts by others that sell at 1.5x the cost. My thoughts on 3 improvements: > Find an inner collar material that doesn't stain from sweat and sunscreen. Impossible to remove staining makes shirts old before their time. > I have never seen a single person use the rod holder tab on an outdoor shirt from any manufacturer. Just something to snag. Get rid of it. Add a more secure pocket to protect your iphone when around the water. > Make a similar shirt without the venting we can wear in the fall and winter here in the South. The sun still shines, even if the temps are a little low to call tropic. Need a winter line extension to tropicwear. Flannel doesn't cut it in South Carolina.
