I've bought several of these shirts and use them especially for travel or for when I want to dress lightly but with long sleeves. My two oldest are several years old and have held up well. They dry quickly which makes them good for travel and the sun protection is valuable since I burn easily. The mesh inside helps the shirt to vent in warm weather. The shirts do have a synthetic feel to them so if you just love the feel of cotton, these shirts will take a little getting used to.
I had an opportunity to put this shirt through the paces a few times before writing this review. The design should be familiar to anyone that has any high quality hiking clothes. I have several of this design I bought over the years from other manufacturers, so I can compare products objectively.
The 100 synthetic fabric is strong enough to hold up if using a backpack and not handling it with kid gloves. It is lightweight enough to use during summer months, with an inside net "cape" that allows you to vent perspiration without the back of the shirt sticking to your wet skin. Double needle lock stitch construction all around, with double needle stitching down the front placket and sleeve placket. Wow! Lots of loops on this shirt for hanging things like a carbiner with a set of keys, to a wet pair of socks to dry after washing when you're on a backpacking trip.
Extremely high quality shirt considering the low price for what you get. This shirt would be at home doing your shopping or on the trail. This shirt can do double duty.
I bought the LL Bean Timberledge pants to go along with the shirt. Nice selection of colors in both products. I will be ordering more.
I bought 3 of these and had to exchange the original XL regulars, which is usually a good fit for me with LL Bean, for the L regular, which fits perfectly. The shirt is comfortable over a T-shirt, even on hot days. Well made, looks good, and the fabric is sharp. My new favorite summer shirts.
My brother is so happy with this beautiful gift for his birthday. LLBean was gracious enough to hold delivery of this shirt for a month and ship it in time for my brother's birthday. They also enclosed a message card: Happy Birthday, Love Pat
