I own several of the tropicwear shirts and wear them often when hiking and kayaking. The fit is perfect and light weight fabric is just what one needs in this heat.
Recived this shirt just in time for this year's heat wave. It's been a great way to look nice while staying cool. Has breathed and stayed cool even on long midday walks in high temps and high humidity. Fit is loose, could be a bit trimmer while still being comfortable. (for reference, I'm 5'11 160, 40" chest 33" waist and have a size medium shirt). Tabs on the pockets and the fishing rod holding tab above the left breast pocket are a bit superfluous, but I don't fish so,... I also have a cool weave trail Shirt and prefer the sleeve roll up mechanism on that shirt to the odd button on the sleeve as found on this tropic wear shirt. All in all, very pleased with this purchase, and my wife loves it too!
I think this is my 4th or 5th Tropicwear Shirt, and while I've worn them hiking and fishing, they remain my favorite traveling shirt. They're light, well ventilated for warmer days, handsome, and extremely easy to keep clean when traveling. This may sound strange, but my preferred method of washing my Tropicwear shirts while on the road is to wear them in the shower at the end of the day. They get soaped up with me, rinsed off with me, then rung out and hung up.. They're dry the next morning, I shake out the wrinkles, I'm off for another day, and I usually only need to take 3 shirts for a two week trip. My wife also loves her Tropicwear shirts, but she prefers to wash and rinse hers in the sink. Very old school.
