I am a senior and my dexterity with my fingers is not what it once was. I have many years of LL Bean clothing and usually have no problem with the buttons. However, the buttons (and there are many) on this shirt are a tight fit in the corresponding holes. It takes me a long time to get each button on this in its hole or out as needed. The fit is tight and they sort of pop in or out once you get them lined up just right and then press a bit. If the design had used holes that had a bit more room for its button so it could slip into the hole without that extra push, I could put this on and off much faster. Also, a bit larger size of buttons to start with would make grabbing them with my fingers easier. These are smaller than my other LL Bean shirts have. I would have ordered more had the buttons been workable for me. This will be the only one of these shirts I will get.
Husband asked for a new one, has worn these shirts for a decade and they've held up well. He lives in them during the warm months. Roomy, airy, good pockets. Awhile ago I bought a medium for myself and it's my go-to on hot days. Easy care, machine wash, air dry.
