I bought these for a multi-week trip overseas. I bought and brought 3, wound up wearing only two. Washed them overnight and they were dry the next day.
The velcro pockets are large enough to hold a small hotel paper pad, extra camera battery, passport, etc. They are very comfortable and roomy, and they do breathe, so they are great in warm conditions.
When ordering I did not pay attention that they are also sun blocking, so that was an extra "surprise" bonus when they arrived.
They stood up well to the hand washing ... great for summer casual and traveling.
My husband is 6'1" and he has long arms, but he's not very wide around the chest. The size he needs is probably a tall medium, but LL Bean doesn't make that. A regular medium has arms that are too short and a regular large is so big around the middle, it looks like he's wearing a parachute. I don't understand why LL Bean makes clothes for active people that are gigantic on normal size people.
I have bought several of these shirts (one for myself, one for my husband and three for our son). We like to spend a lot of time outdoors and these shirts really have worked well to provide more than adequate protection from the sun's UV rays. The shirts also fit well, look great and are really comfortable to wear. The material is soft and washes really well and holds the color and sun protection very well. I will continue to buy them for as long as LLBean sells them....great shirts. I highly recommend them.
