Ordered 2 in different colors for my boyfriend for our recent trip to the Bahamas. He is 6'1" 180lbs and the large fit comfortably for him. Served him well for fishing and boating excursions in 80+ degree weather. Lightweight and the vents are awesome. I wore it myself!
I have had an L L Bean shirt like this one for many years. It's fine, but I wanted a new one. This one has button down collars, but what I like is the larger and more protective pockets. The color is almost the same. I had a MEDIUM then, and this medium fits the same. The weight of the material is identical, as far as I can see. I have been biking in 95 degree weather in SoCal, and this is what I would call tropical weight. Anything lighter, I'm afraid, would not hold up well.
I have multiple of these shirts and love them. They are nice enough to wear for work but comfortable for fishing. These are my go to shirts for the summer. I have mediums in the regular size and they fit accurately, and breath well. They dry very fast and I enjoy the easy ability to roll the sleeves up and stay up.
Thought that this shirt would be perfect for my husband for our upcoming trip to Africa with its UPF 50+, its nylon/poly blend and 2 front bellows pockets. However the traditional fit is HUGE, making it not very stylin' and the LLBean label across the front pocket is a real deal breaker in this day 'n age where overseas travelers are not wise to promote themselves by wearing clothing with visible American brand labels. Wish that I had read through the comments before purchasing...
