Great bag! Use this bag for transporting knitting materials, yarn, needles, instruction book, etc. Very convenient and the zip top is a plus for keeping all items inside during transportation. I chose black as a color because lighter colors show too much dirt/scuff marks.
My hunting spouse insisted we purchase this as a gift to be used as a diaper bag for a young couple expecting a girl. Her dad is delighted to have such a manly tote bag to carry her necessities. It is the usual LL Bean quality and I see the bag continuing into her childhood as the "go to" for all sorts of adventures.
I purchased this tote to haul my personal gear around the animal shelter where I volunteer. I needed something sturdy, waterproof, and yet attractive. Bean's Hunter's Tote Bag fits the bill. All of my "stuff" fits inside, I can zip it up, and not worry about a thing. I do wish there was an inside pocket (for tissues, wipes, band-aids, etc.), but I added a small pouch for these items. The monogram makes it uniquely mine, which is good because everyone who has seen it now wants one of their own!
I bought this tote in the medium size to replace a Bean Adventure Tote that is no longer being offered, and am very happy with this choice. I got it as a daily commuting bag and also for any after-work "fun time" gear I might need to pack. It's not too heavy and stands up on its own, which is a real plus. Unlike lots of other people, I dislike shoulder-length handles on totes, so the short handles I can hold in my hand without having the bag drag on the ground (I'm 5'2') were one of the two main reasons I got this bag. The other one was that it's waterproof and I don't need to worry about my stuff getting soaked in the rain or snow. The olive drab color is great. I got a monogram with the "mimosa yellow" color thread which stands out well without being too gaudy. The reasons I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is that I wish it had a small inside and/or outside pocket, as well as some sort of pocket to keep a water bottle stable and upright. But otherwise, it's a wonderful bag!
