I bought this small tote to take hunting with me. I like to hunt from a tree stand and this bag is easier (in my opinion) to use than a knapsack. I attach it to the rail right beside me and then I can access my calls and lunch and water bottle quite easily. I use a climbing tree stand and it is on my back and rifle in one hand and this nice camo bag in the other when I'm walking in to my tree. I can use this small bag for other activities as well. I love the zipper on this bag also. As usual another great product!
I bought this bag in size 'medium' and it's absolutely fantastic for my coastal fishing gear. It easily holds 4 or 5 3500-series Plano lure boxes, an extra spinning reel and spool, as well as my flourocarbon, rubber beads and all 'the small stuff' - hooks, swivels, snaps etc... The zippered top keeps the bugs and critters out and when it rains, keeps my lunch protected and my gear dry. Suggestion for the next generation bags: An expandable/pleated pocket with a slightly oversized rain flap (& snap closure) would be nice to have at the end of the bag, especially if it's located directly under the zipper (not plastered on the side) for pliers, hemostat clamp, and other small tools. It'd also benefit from a couple of additional 'D' rings for an optional shoulder strap or for tying things on. But, as I use it today, it's absolutely great - I wish I could afford a spare.
I mistakenly wrote this review on the 'Open-Top' bag webpage, and for this I apologize. An open-top bag would never suit my needs, nor can I really understand the point of having a waterproof bag which is open at the top? My ordinary Boat & Tote canvas classics occasionally see a folded plastic bag lining the bottom when they're sat on wet ground. If it rains, I drape a folded plastic bag across the top and I guess I'd need to do the same for the open-top hunter's bag. I just can't see the point...
I am so happy with my purchase of the Hunter's Tote Bag! I had been eyeing it for months and finally I pulled the trigger! At first I was indecisive about what size to get, either Medium or Large. I live in NYC and I have seen several people on the streets with the bag and tried to scope out their size. I chose the Medium and it's perfect for everyday, wear to work, travel, etc. I am 5'3 so I decided that the large would've been extremely large to use as an everyday bag. I chose the ziptop for extra security option but the top easily folds down if you leave it open. I also got a monogram letter which gives a girlie touch to the bag :) Definitely recommend. Also matches great with my boat & tote bag which I have the camo accents.
this bag is massive and there is really no time or place to carry it. in addition to being oversized, the handles are not meant to be carried over the shoulder. i checked time and time again thinking I had been shipped the XL in error, but I think the product dimensions on the site are just incorrect. needless to say, i returned this awful bag.
