I bought the Zip top because I already had the bag without a zipper. We use it to go jeep riding. Well built and it is waterproof. We plan to use the zipper bag on the boat.
On my very first visit to your Freeport store I found this terrific tote. The handles are so comfortable that I can walk for hours with it. It holds the useful "gal" items plus my dog's collapsible bowl. In fact the zipper not only makes it possible to carry anything I chose to stuff in it but my little rascal's food... and securely! L.L. Bean is known for the quality and durability of its merchandise. This sturdy tote is no exception.
Great tote for almost anything you can throw at it. The waterproof inside is a big plus. I also have the larger, plain green size that has held up well with the wear-and-tear of storing my hunting clothes. Heavy-duty zipper seals the bag to keep odors out/scents in. I would have liked another camo pattern, but the Freeport store only had the "Duck Blind" pattern.
