I was looking for cool to cold weather riding pants for my recumbent trike. Unlike conventional bikes, the recumbent trike requires a different style pant so your pant legs don't get caught in the chain ring. Tights aren't an option for my age or body so I wanted something that was comfortable yet effective. These pants do the trick and have kept me warm while staying put on my legs. It hasn't been very cold yet, but they are very comfortable in the few chilly days we have had.
I live in Florida and go snowboarding once or twice a year and I was looking for a multi-use cold weather pant that I could use for snow boarding and snow skiing as well as other cold weather activities but I did NOT want a traditional baggy style boarding pant and these were perfect! I was able to use these pants in temps between 0-20 degrees with a lite base layer or above 20 degrees with no base layer and yet in 50-60 degrees I did not sweat! They were warm yet breathable, they moved with my body and never felt tight or restrictive. They are comfortable enough to wear into town shopping without looking like I just came out of the gym. Rain and snow proof! If there was a negative to these pants it would be that when I fell snowboarding there is not any cushion for the fall - maybe I need to fall less!
Very good pants for XC skiing. They are warm, wind-resistant, relatively good at shedding moisture and the fit is true to size guide. The one drawback that I have found is that the material pills quite quickly. Regardless, I still recommend these pants.
