These pants blew my expectations away. The material is durable and of good quality. I wore them winter hiking and I was neither hot or cold but just right. They block the wind very well and I can tell that if it was drizzling, these pants would still hold up. Well worth it and I'd call them a winter staple.
I am 5'7" & 156 lb & 33" waist. These men's pants fit very well for length (Men's Large) and can fit over silk underwear. They were warm enough for this winter weather with cold temp of 10 F and the windchill. I recommend them for walking & snowshoeing. Much better than sweatpants I was wearing previous to purchasing these. The fabric seems sturdy (so far) and I have walked through brush without any damage
I can't rave enough about the warmth, durability, fit and versatility of the Men's Sporthill XC Pants. Sorry that I have to comment about a manufacturing flaw. I have ordered two pair of these within the last year; one for myself, one for my son. Each pair had a stitching error in the left pocket that left a 2" hole. Its too bad that all the details can't be properly attended to on such an otherwise well developed garment.
