These pants (Sport Hill) are great for winter sports such as cross country skiing and mountain biking. Extremely breathable; tailored to fit well, excellent windbreaker.
These pants are exactly what I wanted for winter walking, ice skating, biking, etc. The fit is tighter to the skin than normal casual pants but the material stretches and is not confining. The legs taper to the ankles. I have worn the pants on recent cooler, windy days and I was very comfortable. I also expect to be comfortable in the colder winter temperatures.
My wife and I chose these pants for a Yellowstone winter adventure. We spent more than a week in them in a variety of conditions - cold mornings (single digits) with warming days, wind, post holing in deep snow, skiing, snowshoeing, in and out of vehicles - these pants did it all over a base layer. We took extra nylon shell pants, but never used them. Fit and finish are great. The pockets were not much use, as the pants are very fitted. Items were difficult to get into/out of the pockets and were uncomfortable when compressed into one's thigh. That aside, the pants did what was needed with style and comfort.
I wear these from fall to spring biking just outside of Boston...from 50 down to 25 they are comfortable....just padded bike undershots and I'm all set...they let some air thru so there is no heat build up...If only my hands and feet were that comfortable....my firs pair lasted over 10 years
