I had a pair of these same pants for many years and they finally began to wear out. I also wore them for biking and other activites. They keep you warm with long underwear in very cold weather and can be worn alone in warmer weather. I will ski up to -10 F and be okay in these pants. The new ones have zippered leg openings at the bottom for ease putting on and small zippered pockets which are good for keys, etc. Nice improvements as the others didn't have this. The fabric is soft and quiet. It breathes but still keeps you warm and sheds snow well if you happen to fall.
Bought item this fall to use for snow shoeing in the NH winter so I hadn't used them. Recently with the cold weather I have been using them while running. Very pleased with the warmth and fit provided, have been running in 25 degree weather with a healthy wind and was plenty warm. Did read a review about hair collecting on the pants and we have a golden retriever and this is true. I do not see this as a problem, if it is, you shouldn't have pets! Would recommend these pants to others.
Im 5 ft 9 in tall and the length is just right. I weigh 150 and Medium is perfect for my 32 in waist, generous in the butt, but will be good with heavy clothing and things in my pockets. I've worn them winter biking and they are properly warm. CC skiing is next.
