These pants allow for unrestricted movement. They are light, warm and weather proof. I recommend use of suspenders although the waist has large adjustable tabs. Great over all quality and features. They look great and are cut like a pair of jeans. This is a bargin and the best winter pants for any activity including the most aggressive skiing.
I've worn these pants for snowshoeing a couple of times. They're quite comfortable, provide excellent warmth and breatheability, along with enough stretch for easy movement. I'm going to try them for cold-weather biking as well. Their high quality is typical of LL Bean products, and I expect they'll last a very long time, making their comparatively high initial cost a good value in the long run.
