Great product and Service
PostedDecember 11, 2009
The tent has plenty of room and the new configuration of screen room door is great. As always the LL Bean service is 100%! We could not be happier with the product or the service.

I agree with many other reviews that this could be the worlds best tent .
IF only the poles were sturdier,
Its the finest tent ive owned in 55 yrs of camping.
But did have one pole break.
Now if only this tent had sturdier or alluminum poles it would be a world beater.
Especially now that they have added zip up covers to front of screen room
LL BEAN .give us better poles even if you have to raise the price .
Dont spoil this great tent design with weak poles.
Brian.

Poor Choice
PostedOctober 27, 2009
My wife and I purchased this tent with great anticipation, and initially, we loved the tent. The design is excellent... except for the poles. We should have listened to other raters. The poles bent at the ends on our 2nd use. We replaced the tent and poles only to have them bend/break on the next use. Mind you, we treated the poles like they were made of gold, but no matter. They are poorly made. The fact the tent itself is a beautiful design, roomy, airy, etc., is rendered insignificant by the poles. The best tent is worthless without proper support. It's a shame. I am now in the market for another tent. I hope Bean's heeds the advice of many reviewers and replaces the cheap fiberglass poles with quality seamless aluminum. Only then would I purchase another King Pine 6.
p.s. As always, Beans was great to deal with during our tent ordeal.

No Leaks / Easy Setup
PostedOctober 27, 2009
The tent is easily set up due to the instructions sewn into the carrying bag.
I was caught in an absolute torrential thunderstorm and it did not leak from any seams. The only place where a little water entered the tent was through the rain flaps due to the heavy winds. I wish the carrying bag was larger so that I do not have such a hard time putting it back in. I ordered the optional floor but I did not have it for my campout due to it being on backorder. I am sure that when I do receive it, it will not fit in the carrying bag. I also wish it came with instructions on how to fold it up as it was when it was originally sent to me. I had no problems with the poles snapping on me as did some other reviewers. Overall, I think it is a great family tent.
