We tried this tent out last weekend and it was easy to set up, large enough to stand up in, and held up through a torrential downpour overnight with the rain fly.
We were disappointed that the screen room had no floor since we wanted to use this second room in the tent for additional people for sleeping. It would have been nice to know this before we bought the tent.
Whatever you do, make sure you buy the footprint so you will have a semi-floor for the screen room!
1. the set-up instructions on this tent were substandard compared to other LL bean tents 2. Set up of the tent was ok, but the rain fly was difficult 3. We set this up for only one day prior to our trip, when taking the tent down one rain fly pole was broken and several main poles were permanently bent and crooked 4. as usual LL bean stood behind their generous return policy and we exchanged for a Vector XL
Well, this tent was well christened on it's first use...as it rained two out of the three days that we camped! We were nice and dry however, even in the screenroom. (We purchased the footprint as well, so the screenroom had a floor...a definate MUST!) The only dampness occurred because of the dew and humidity and that is to be expected when camping. Nothing leaked into the tent.
Set up took two people...can't imagine doing it with one! But it only took 10 minutes to get it set up. I loved that they give you the hammer to drive in the stakes..a nice surprise!
My only complaint is that it definately is NOT a 6 person tent....4 max! We had two adults as well as a 10 and 8 year old and honestly, I can't imagine where the other two would have fit! I did know this going in, however, because I had read the other reviews.
Overall, it is a good buy and we will enjoy lots of camping this summer!
