Great Tent
PostedJuly 14, 2008
This tent was perfect for two middle aged campers who need extra space to move comfortably. Great ventilation. Color allows for great refracted light. Two chairs and small table fit perfectly in screened room with room to spare.
Set up was a breeze if you review erecting tents on internet and read Beans directions. Color coding where poles belong and which to place first helped make it a snap and disassembling was equally easy. The Key... Research first, makes life much easier. NO PROBLEMS on its maiden voyage. Look forward to next trip.

Awesome Tent...But
PostedJune 29, 2008
We've had our 4 person tent for a little over a year & have used it 6 times for 3-7 days each time.
The tent has been through 2 heavy thunderstorms with high winds.
As other people have stated the tent holds up very well in heavy rain & high winds.
We like the fact we can stand up in it & we use the screen room quite a bit in the evening to escape the bugs.
Our only complaint is the poles. The last time we set up the tent one of the main poles broke where the poles come together at the sleeve & the pole for the eye brow broke in the same place. Lots of duct tape allowed us to use the tent. We bought a pole repair kit for both poles & repairs were easily made.
The tent is spacious for 2 people. It can easily accommodate 3. More then that some one would have to sleep in the screen room.
If your looking for a comfortable tent that can stand up to the weather then this is the tent for you.

Oops It Broke
PostedJune 28, 2008
Took this tent back today. I set it up three times all by myself for practice. This was because I have two little ones my wife would be looking after. It took about 45 min to setup myself but it can be done. Things were breaking by the 4th time it was used and that was when it mattered. The hammer broke and a fiberglass pole aluminum joint broke. I had to use duct tape for that joint but the tent still set up without issue. We got stuck in a massive downpour that flooded the whole area. Everything in the people part of the tent stayed super dry. The seams didn't leak. Every thing in the screened portion did get soaked as would be expected since there is no floor to this part. We did not get a replacement. We are now looking for something with straighter sides for cots to fit in. We were able to just fit a full size blowup mattress and 2 kid sleeping bags next to it. Once the kids get bigger, there would not be any room for your bags in this tent even though it says it sleeps six. The space inside seems to fill very quickly. We will try a Eureka tent next.

Great tent for the whole family!
PostedJune 22, 2008
I just tried out this tent and I am so pleased with it, I felt compelled to write a review. The tent was very easy to set up, it took me around 20 minutes the first time. I would recommend setting it up at home before you go camping just to get the hang of it. We had 2 adults and 3 small children in the tent and it was very spacious. We had a regular sized air mattress and plan on getting another one so everyone can sleep off the ground. It came a severe thunderstorm and the tent was totally waterproof. Not one drop leaked inside the tent. The tent has excellent air flow even with the rain fly in place. In fact it actually got cool and felt very nice. This was June 21 in the south. Also, the screen porch is really nice to store your gear and also put a couple chairs to sit in the late evening without getting attacked by bugs.
The reason I didn't give it a four out of five stars-no storage net/gear loft in the ceiling to put things although there is nice storage on the sides of the main compartment floor. Also, you will want to purchase a hammer and replace the one that comes with the tent. I bought one but went ahead and used the one that came with it and it broke on the third stake pulling it up from the ground, glad I had the hammer I bought!!.Another minor thing is getting the tent back into the bag it came in. I plan on buying a bigger storage bag so I don't have to fight to get everything back into the bag. Finally, the biggest concern I have is the tent poles. I almost broke one the first time I put the tent up. Be very careful when you put the tent up and the poles should be fine. Some other reviewers did have some break so I know it's a concern. If the tent came with stronger poles I would have given it a perfect score.
All in all, this is an awesome tent that is totally waterproof with enough room to move around.
