Love it. My husband set the tent up in the backyard. Easy to assemble even with two little children helping. First time we have a tent with a porch area to leave the shoes and duffles, better than keeping it all with us while we sleep. We all loved sitting in the porch area while it rained...stayed dry in our cozy tent!
I purchased this tent about 7 years ago, but only started to use it recently. I can honestly say it was the best $250 (that was the price back then) I spent. It's fit all my stuff in it and there is still enough room to move around. The screen room is a godsend, but it would be better if there were hooks in the roof to hanging a light. A pole split at the end of my camping trip, and the people at LL Bean replaced it at no charge. Now that is great customer service!!!!
I was camping when a tremendous wind storm and driving rain came up quickly. This tent was very flexible but sturdy and completely dry. It was a great addition to my camping equipment!
I just returned from a trip to North Dakota prairie region. I travel and tent alone so one of my criteria in a tent is that I can set it up by myself. I ordered this tent several weeks before I left so that I could try to set it up and was very pleased that it was not difficult even for a five foot tall lone woman. But what really moved me to write this review is how well the tent withstood prairie winds. While I missed the worst weather in the mid-west this spring, I did have several days in Dakota with heavy winds and rain. Winds were fairly steady at between 30 and 40 mph with gusts in excess of 40 mph. I was amazed at how well a tent this size shed and withstood the wind. Great design job Bean!! I only have a couple of suggestions. The packing bags could be just a little roomier--it's a little difficult to get the tent and the poles back into their respective bags. It would be nice to have some inside ties around the inside of the screen room like there is on the inside of the tent for things like a loft. Finally, the center pole for the fly should have better end caps--I lost the end caps after setting it up the second time (I'm sure the company will take care of this for me.) That said, this is a terrific tent with all the room I could ever want. And I really enjoyed the screen room when the black fly and misquitos tried to attack me in Ontario.
