GREAT TENT
PostedJune 5, 2008
THE KING PINE 6 PERSON DOME TENT IS A GREAT TENT. THE COLOR CODED SYSTEMS MAKES FOR A QUICK AND EASY SET UP. THE SCREEN ROOM IS GOOD BECAUSE IT GIVES YOU A PLACE TO GO IF IT'S TO BUGGY OR IF IT'S RAINING. THE TENT IS ALSO WATERPROOF AND DOESN'T LEAK AT ALL. IT ALSO HAS PLENTY OF STAND UP ROOM. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TENT TO ANYONE.

Great Family or Group Tent
PostedMay 28, 2008
This is an overall great tent! It is very spacious and the screen room is great. Recently on a campout we had 6 people in the screen room playing cards during a fierce rainstorm in moose head. It also held up to very heavy winds that night, thank god I had taken the time to stake it out before hand. It stayed put when 3 other tents decided to go for a fly. But as with any tent is has its flaws. The problem is with the metal cuffs on the poles. I recently had one break on me during a week camping trip in Baxter state park. The cuff just split when we were setting it up at the campsite (hence the 4 out of 5 star rating). It wasn’t put under any abnormal stress or pressure. But a good dose of duct tape saved the vacation. L.L.Bean replaced the whole tent when I brought it to customer service (as usual they were all friendly people and easy to work with). Setup is a breeze with two people but the more you have the easier it is. Directions on the inside of the bag helped a lot. The back door is also a great help when the screen room is full of gear during a rainstorm. The back flap of the fly over the back door can be set up as a back porch if you need extra storage room during the rain. That also helps vent the tent better. This can also be a problem in the dead of summer. The rain fly covers very well and keeps the rain out but doesn't vent very much. On hot summer nights I have slept in the screen room to avoid the heat on the inside of the tent body. My advice is to keep all parts of the fly open whenever possible. Also two handy hooks in the tent and the screen room to hang a lantern from. If it weren’t for the pole incident this tent would have earned a 5+ rating.

Great Tent!
PostedMay 28, 2008
I bought this tent last summer. My kids are getting older so it's hard to keep them and the adults all in our camp trailer so I moved the kids to this tent. It is very roomy. Lot's of room for air mattresses. The front screen area is great for storing camping gear, or eating in when the bees are bad. Four adults can sit in there at the same time (snug but it works for a meal).

Typical L.L.Bean Product
PostedMay 28, 2008
My wife and I recently purchased this tent and finally had a chance to use it for the first time last weekend. We love it! Fellow campers along side us gauked with envy on how great it looks. For just the 2 of us, there is ample room for all our gear with room to spare - it's great. The only drawback is that it took us a bit longer than the 10 minutes as stated on the Bean website but that is really a minor issue (unless you're setting up in a downpour).
All in all, this is a typical L.L. Bean, high-quality product, that should be on the short list of tents to consider for anyone purchasing a new tent.
Thank you, L.L. Bean, for another great product!
