We love this tent, especially the screen room, which makes it much easier to enter and exit the tent, store your gear, and keep the tent floor clean (especially with kids). Those of us who are a little stiff in the morning can now use a chair to put on our boots! Also, great instructions, a snap to set up, and well made. Like the double stitched seams and inside taping. Good ventilation, and very pleasant with all the doors open. Two suggestions - the tie backs are overly complicated, and the exterior zipper to the main door gets tight at the top because the overhand on fly stretches the door at that point. Next trip we'll try not to set the front stakes too tight.
Overall, would buy again and recommend to any family. Great product!
After reading way too many tent reviews, i finally decided to give this tent a try. Our family of four spent a chilly Memorial Day weekend in this tent. We stayed warmer than our fiends. I love the front room on the tent. We kept our gear there and the kids could go in and out without filling our sleeping bags with dirt. The only thing that could be better is if the front room had a floor. The footprint covers this area, but it is not attached, so dirt came in. So far a great tent.
This was recently purchased at the LL Bean store in Freeport for me by a realtive visiting there and who knew I had been looking at it online. I set it up immediately and found the set up to be easy enough, but had some problems with height. I am short (5 foot) and couldn't reach all attachments on top. My real disappointment was with the living space. It is much smaller than expected. I cannot find a cot that will fit without hitting the walls and pushing on them. At 5' 2" I just fit head to toe lying on the floor with my head at the screen house and and feet at the back. I don't see how I will ever get a cot to fit in there. The whole reason for this tent was to be able to use a cot as my old tent woudln't hold one and my eldely mother often comes along and needs a cot as well as the height to be able to walk in and out without stooping. I have already taken it down and will be returning it to my local store asap. Aside from space issues, it seems well made and was basically an easy assembly with the height and door openings we needed, just not the space.
I just set up my King Pine 6 person tent for the first time. I was absolutely amazed at how easy it was. Color coded attachments, extremely easy set up. The metal pole sections are smooth and they go through the tunnels without snagging. Somebody at Bean should get a big bonus for coming up with that idea. What a pleasure it is to finally have a tent I can set up with out cussing through the entire process.
