The first time we used this was during our New Years Eve Party. The kids had a blast rolling it around and dancing and shaking it. It made ice cream quickly, and tasted great. It comes with some simple recipes, and my kids can't wait to try them all! It requires an adult to stir in mid-making and to scoop out the ice cream, as it sticks to the sides of the container. Buy the bigger one, so you have more ice cream!
The kids loved making the ice cream, and it kept them occupied for quite some time rolling the ball around. It took a little longer than expected, but probably because we used a mixture of heavy cream and lowfat milk. Using all heavy cream would turn to a solid more quickly. Simple to clean. Great fun.
For the young and young at heart! To use the ice cream ball teaches science, measurements, volume, time, patience and cooperation while making a yummy treat. You might want to cut back on the vanilla in the recipe. The pint size is enough for 2 children to have a nice dessert. Good purchase.
This is the most fun we have ever had at our family Christmas. Everyone got in a circle, we had at least 5 ice cream balls rolling in the large circle. Everyone was laughing and have the best time ever! And then, there was the ice cream party! I would recommend this to anyone, and definitely get more than one!
