Having used roof racks in the past, I like the ease and convenience of a hitch rack. I already owned a bicycle hitch rack so I was pleased to see an add on option that would carry skis and/or snow boards.
The unit attaches very easily to the existing rack, and it seems secure. Loading and unloading skis is fast and easy. Once loaded, the skis are secure and ride well.
The unit comes with locks, which are a nice feature. If someone really wants your skis, the locks won't stop him, but it provides a deterrent.
