I had been looking for this style sweater for some time and was happy to see it on your web-site. I am on the vertically-challenged side and have lost weight due to medical issues. I ordered a large, which is a bit roomy, but when cold weather hits the Lake Erie snow belt and I go to layers, it should fit quite well.
I bought one of these about 20-25 years ago. Keeps its shape, wears like iron, and I wore it a lot. If it weren't for a recent season's inattention to the moth threat (it is wool, remember),I would be wearing it still. Absolutely recommended.
This review covers both the blue sweater I just received and the maroon one I've had for a few years but now has badly-darned moth holes all over the front. I'm female, 5' 8". 155lb, straight-up-and-down build, long arms, and the Small fits me perfectly. As for the fit, it's exactly as shown on the model--close to the body. But also as seen on the model, it's rib knit, so it gives easily and doesn't bind. The sleeves are long, but when out in the cold there is no gap between cuff and glove. The rib knit also traps more air for extra insulation under a jacket without adding weight. The wool is a bit scratchy, so I always wear a thin long-underwear turtleneck under it. This one will live in a zip-lock bag between wearings--I've learned my lesson.
