Had one of these for about 20 years. Use it daily all winter long for running, hiking, hunting. Throw it in a corner or in the back of the car and wash it in the spring. Mine is finally a little bit ragged but still going strong. I wear it with an undershirt for anything below 42 degrees; it's always warm enough and never too hot. I am positive I never have, nor never will, get as much value out of an article of clothing.
I ordered a medium in December, found sweater to be a good fit (I am 6'1" and buy 34" long shirts). I typically wear on weekends with a t-shirt underneath. The merino wool is comfortable and does not seem to bother my kids when I hold them. Sweater is good for quicks trips outside without a jacket and keeps me warm for extended periods outside with an light winter jacket (in MA, temperature range between 10-30 F). Inside I have had to take the sweater off due to overheating (when interior temperatures reached 70F+, very comfortable with interior 66-68F). Overall very happy with purchase after a couple of months of wear. Would consider buying a second in a different color next year.
I bought this for my guy as a Christmas present. He was skeptical upon opening because he thought it looked quite military, and he's not that kind of person. All concern disappeared when he tried it on because it doesn't really look military at all -- just simple and trim with small details. I think he looks great in the sweater, and love seeing him wearing it. Sleeves are a bit long for him (5'8, 170lbs, size M) but he is fine rolling the cuffs once. Looking forward to buying another next winter. Price is incredible for the quality of the product.
