I wear this over a base layer and under my ski parka. It keeps me warm until the low teens with a strong wind. Then I add another layer. It does what it is supposed to do and looks good as well.
I bought this in a L for my husband who is of average height. The sleeves were too long and sloppy. It and already has a cuff so they can't be rolled up more. I returned it for a M and the sleeves were still too baggy and long. Proportions were not right compared to the body of the sweater. I'm returning sweater #2.
This sweater is great for somebody who spends a lot of time in the outdoors during cool, or cold weather. Unlike some of the paper thin wool sweaters in the marketplace these days, this one is nice and heavy. Wear it alone or under a wind shell and you will be plenty warm. I normally wear an XL and the sweater is true to size
