Ordered this a couple of days ago and just got it yesterday. Sweater fit true to size. I wore it last night outside around our firepit and it felt great. No scratchiness and it felt great on. Much better than the original commando sweaters I have had in the past. Will definitely recommend this to anyone who asks.
This is the second comando sweater I purchased from LL Bean. I already have the brown sweater and recently purchased the blue sweater. These are fantastic sweaters that are stylish, quite comfortable and will keep you warm during either chilly to cold days. Although I live in Florida I travel to colder climate states including Alaska plus it can get quite chilly here in Florida during the winter. LL Bean filled and shipped my order in a timely manner that lived up to my expectations.
It has a nice cut to it and doesn't feel overly bulky or too tight. I'm a lighter build though so if you're a slightly stocky or a generally bigger build you may want to get it in a extra large. Also I'm pretty tall and another reviewer said that he was 6'3" and that if he had bought the large-tall it would've probably been too long. He was right. If you're taller than 6'3 you'd probably want the large tall but if you're of a more average height then stick with the regular sizes. My only complaint is that the wool seems to be "balling up" already and it hasn't even been washed yet. Maybe this is normal with wool but it seems like the material is breaking down a bit quick. The padding on the shoulders and along the length of the arms seems very durable though. Overall it's a nice sweater for fall/winter but, I'm not overly confident that this sweater will stand the test of time in an outdoor environment. If you need a nice warm sweater for occasional use it's a good buy.
