Sweater fits a little more trim than my other various sweaters in men's large. I'm pretty tall with a very long torso and XL reg fit perfectly. The sleeves can roll to adjust, and the torso is cut a good bit longer than a typical dress sweater which is perfect for me. Unless you're 6'5"+, you probably don't even need the tall size. As some negative reviews say, the wool is not super luxurious or soft, and it a little bit itchy if you aren't used to wool, but it's thick, and most importantly WARM. This is a functional garment, not a fashion statement. It keeps me warm even down to 40deg. Worth every penny.
I've always wanted a commando sweater. This one from L.L.Bean met all my expectations. The quality and fit & finish are excellent. I hope to wear this sweater for many years.
