Our very helpful salesman spent a lot of time with us - we learned a lot about binoculars, and looked through a lot of them! These were the best of the bunch- better than the more expensive ones (aside from the $1,000+ binoculars which were amazing). Not waterproof, but relatively lightweight and really nice quality.
We ordered these binoculars to bring on our honeymoon and are very happy with our purchase! I agree that the lens covers would be better if they were connected. I am scared that we will lose one sometime in the future. Other than that miss, they are durable and very clear.
I received these binoculars as a gift. Having owned/used binoculars many times more expensive, after using these 8X40's for the first time, I was simply amazed. Had someone handed these binoculars to me with the instructions to first look through them and then give my assessment, I would have said that I was looking through a set of top-end, very expensive binoculars. The brightness and clarity are immediately obvious, along with the protective coating. Very, very good value for the money. I am purchasing a 2nd pair for my wife.
these are wonderful nikon makes a great optic i've had mine for years they ride in my truck and are great for looking at moose here in baxter park area!!!!
