I have 3 of these, one for each of my boys. Obviously, they are too heavy to use on an outing where you have to lug them any distance, but they're terrific for base or car camping. One hass seen six years of hard use, and it still looks almost new. The outside sheds dirt nicely. These have been used in a cabin in Maine, and in a tent outdoors. In both cases, there were nights when the temperature dipped below 40, and my boys were still toasty warm!
My mother-in-law bought each of my sons one of these bags. I couldn't be happier with the bags. My boys love them, and the bags keep them warm at night.
I went camping last night and it rained all night. Snow level dropped to about 5500 feet so it wasn't warm where we were at at 5000 feet. I needed to wash one of them afterwards, but somebody cut the tags off the end of the bags, so I didn't know the best way to wash them. I did a search online and found that L.L. Bean has a customer service phone number open every day of the week, so I called and got the information I needed.
I bought this sleeping bag for my 7 year old to take on a Girl Scouts camping trip. I debated between getting the child size and the adult size; and decided to go with the child size because it was a little cheaper (and I'm not sure how much of a need she will have for it). After receiving it, and seeing the size, I regret not getting the adult size b/c she will surely outgrow this one before she is ten. The quality is excellent! And when it is time to get her a bigger one, I will be getting it from LL Bean.
