My 7 year old is beyond thrilled about this sleeping bag and trying it out on her first Girl Scout camping experience...the "Roar and Snore" at the local zoo...the bag is cozy and easy to manage. The storage bag is roomy enough for a pillow and special quilt made by Mom. I just hope she is warm enough...My little girl is getting so grown up.
I am a 1st time shopper to L.L. Bean but will definately be back. I purchased the flannel lined 40 degree camp bag for my 11 1/2 yr old daughter to take on a three day Science Retreat that was being sponsered through her school. She loved the bag from the first minute we got it as it is thicker and softer than any I have owned or seen in the past. The cranberry color is very pretty and a great color for a girl and the coordinating flannel interior is an extra bonus.It is very soft and thick like sleeping on a cloud! This bag is great to use for camping or for a sleepover. I purchased the extra large size as the regular size was out of stock in this color but I am glad I did as my daughter liked the extra room. I also had her name monogrammed on the bag to carry it in which was a nice touch. The sleep bag fit's nicely and is easy to get into the storage bag. I love the color and I noticed that my daughter was the only one at camp with that color bag. I also purchased the matching pillow which makes for a nice set.I know that we will get a lot of use out of this for a long time to come. I purchased this based on the glowing review given by other customers.
I originally bought this sleeping bag four years ago for car camping in northern Maine woods, where the nights are slightly chilly, even in late July. It got a small tear on it from a frisky lab, but I didn't ever exchange it until a couple years after the fact. However, Beans still exchanged it for a flannel lined one in the light green color. My boyfriend purchased a fleece lined navy blue one at the Outlet for a much cheaper price then I originally paid for mine (what a steal!) and we zip them together for extra warmth. I noticed, however, that the straps which keep it enclose upon rolling it up, slightly melted after a few tosses in my dryer. However, they still work fine. Am excited to go camping with it this weekend with our new Bean tent!
I took this bag on a tent camping trip to the beach in Beaufort, SC in May. The weather was in the 60s at night. I was very, very pleased with it (and I am a PICKY sleeper!) The fabric is ultra comfortable, inside and out. It is soft but very durable. I love how fluffy it is. Feels like I'm back at home in my own bed! The cotton lining stayed dry and comfortable during the night. LOVE IT!
