I'm not accustomed to rating LL items anything other than outstanding, so I am very disappointed to tell you that these pants are simply cut too big for the size given. I'm 6-3, 255, and ordered an XL--and it was too big in the waist and exceedingly baggy in the thigh. The standard length was not excessive but covered even my long stems. As for the material, it was very lightweight and comfortable.
I purchased these pants exclusively for trout fishing in the Driftless Area of southeastern WI. With the oppressive heat we've experienced this summer, these pants have essentially replaced my waders. Given the light fabric they're made of, I was initially skeptical how well they'd hold up. But to say these pants have taken it on the chin, yet remained resilient, is an understatement. Whether plodding into dense woods and brambles, hacking through chin-level weeds, or stumbling along steep stream banks, these pants have yet to tear, or even stain. They are an excellent combination of comfort, practicality, and sheer ruggedness. They're very lightweight, with decent pocket placement, and the mesh liner insert and belt allow somewhat of a custom fit, adding to their comfort. They hold up remarkably well in what I would consider to be an extremely challenging environment, keep me comfortable both in and out of the water (drying within 15 minutes), and live to fight another day. These pants are easily one of the best of many fishing-related investments I've made.
The Mens Tropicwear Zip-Leg Pants are nice and light and should be easy to care for. I bought them for a trip to Hawaii. They are comfortable even with the sewn-in mesh briefs as I wear my pants low anyway. The inseem was too long for my legs so I had them altered by 4". These pants are exactly what I wanted. They are nicely made. Nice color too.
