It is a fine walking stick, and a good monopod for my camera. I recommend it as a multipurpose tool. I had to go on line to set it up. The instructions that came with the staff were inadequate for a first time user.
I used the pole this weekend on an Audubon birder's hike. My camera screwed on the top easily. The rubber tip was removed quickly and I had good purchase with the metal tip on the uneven terrain we were walking. It was a quality item that I expect to have many years of use with. My next trek is in the Rockies later this month.
I would suggest that it might be good idea to have a small bag attached to the pole to put the knob and the rubber tip into. Just the pull string type would eliminate dropping them on the trail.
