I used the staff on a hike last week with outstanding results. Good support without slipping as I walked through a creekbed looing for the perfect shot. After finding my desired location I used the staff as a mono-pod for taking a few long exposure pictures of a stream. The staff worked best when isolated from my body movement by sticking the hardened tip into soft soil. The length was easy to adjust but may be harder for those with arthritis or lack of hand strength. Overall a great product that has become a part of my standard hiking equipment.

I discovered the Panorama Trekker's Pack Staff on the L.L.Bean website and immediately ordered. The item is made for Bean by Leki and is of very high quality and is strong, not to mention versatile! The appearance is actually better than pictured here. After back surgery, I need something to steady me and I AM NOT going to use a cane (think Martin Crain)! This puppy does the trick inside, outside, on snow/icy surfaces, on somewhat rugged terrain…AND it does it in style! This staff is so excellent I'll probably order a second one as a back-up. Thanks L.L.Bean! Nobody does it better!
I ordered this staff for my husband for Christmas and he carrys and uses it where ever he goes. He likes the adjustability of it but found it slips somewhat when he uses it to help him get up out of a chair- he has problems with his knees. It is his favorite staff.
LOVE this staff. Adjusts quite easily, very strong, doesn't slip on almost any surface, light weight to put in suitcase, not very expensive - what's not to like!!!
