I thought this would be a great idea for my three kids (oldest is 5), but they quickly lost interest. The ball is really heavy and they could barely roll it..not enough for making the ice cream. My husband and I ended up doing all the work and there was barely enough for a few small cones.
Cute idea though. We'll save it until they're older as the recipe and instructions are very easy.
This makes the perfect gift for someone who has everything. I gave this to my brother for Christmas and it was a hit. He has used it several times and says it works well.
My husband LOVES ice cream and my kids love to make it! What a great combination! It is heavy so I don't recommend tossing. We set it on an extra-large beach towel and each held a corner rolling it around. We built our biceps. We are taking it on vacation and looking forward to the fun it will add to our time together!!! I took one star off because it wasn't easy to remove the ice & salt cap to add more ice (could use a tool or redesign to "snap" release otherwise great concept and functionality!
Very heavy when filled with ice and ingredients. You might kick it around, but you'll break a toe doing it. As far as tossing, you'll get quite a workout dong that. Have to stop and refill with ice and salt often and scrape inside of freezing chamber numerous times during process. Just a lot of trouble for what you get. Too much trouble in my opinion.
