Took my new vest out in PA fields for Pheasant hunt and this vest works great. Shell pouches make it easy to perform fast reloads when the birds start flying. vest is well made with enough pockets for all I need. Water bottles fit nice in the back pockets for easy grab and never stop my walk. Game is easy to tuck in the front load slot or just reach around and drop in the large back pocket. A classic design that has worked for decades and will be something I can pass down to my grandchildren when I'm done. I wear this vest with the Upland Briar shirt and it is a classy look and works well tougher. Only needed my fleece vest underneath to fight of the morning frost, by late morning fleece was off and packed in the back pocket and on with the hunt. I'm buying a second vest for my son.
Bought this in the waxed cotton b/c my friend has had his for over 25 years. I've used his a few times & like how fits & sheds the brush. Plenty of room for birds, rabbits, etc. This one looks like it has made some good improvements over the last quarter century. I hope I'll still hunt with mine 25 years from now.
Just recieved my vest fits great. Wax not as thick as on a new Filson vest but then there's a big price difference, overall I see the vest getting used a lot this coming fall for woodcock hunting.I have different vest for different game and shotgun gauges, this way just grab a vest for the game I'm hunting. this vest is as good as any other vest I own
