being worn by a welder in Alaska who works on boats all winter long! This suit is superior to all of his thermals sets that he normally wears under his overalls. We plan to phase out all of his sets for more of these union suits. Very Warm, EXCELLENT product! Additionally - he burns through his clothes while welding but have found these to be a little more fire resistant than synthetic thermals.
Rugged and well-made, but too roomy for optimal comfort. Described as 40% Merino wool, that's only the outer layer. The inner is 100% cotton, significantly compromising thermal performance. It's warm when dry -- not so much when damp [e.g. from sweat]. I'm glad to have it, but a bit disappointed.

Thank you for your review, this product is sized to accommodate shrinkage that will occur during the first washing. We do encourage customers to put this item through one care cycle (machine wash cold, no bleach, tumble dry low).
