As a Minnesota hunter this garment is a huge help in staying warm while deer hunting in November. While I tend to move a lot and can heat up quick, on days where it's extremely cold or I setup at a single location for awhile this union suit is essential.
The wool/cotton blend works very well at wicking light moisture and still insulates incredibly well, it even dries fairly quickly when lightly exposed to water. It can get a little itchy if you constantly move, but if you are moving at a slow and determined pace that doesn't matter as much. It also cuts the wind very well which makes fantastic for layering.
My only real major complaint is that the crotch buttons don't stay fastened very well which is annoying but largely does not affect the overall function of the garment. I do plan on eventually finding a permanent solution to solve this because it pops open no matter how hard I try to keep it fastened.
I ordered the medium, I'm 5'6'' and usually weigh between 155-160lbs and it fits very well, it's not form fitting but it isn't tight and constricting either. The medium can definitely accommodate someone slightly taller than myself or someone that is a bit heavier set, any smaller and a guy may be swimming in it.
This is absolutely the best Base layer I've ever used. The wool fabric part helps keep you warm even when wet. The quality of the material is superb and meant to last. They are so warm that when I come into my heated home (70degrees) during the winter, I will start sweating.
Put them on the day they arrived and hung out in them for a day.... they are comfortable and fit well. The buttons pop open constantly though.... the button holes are too big for the buttons and there are not enough buttons to keep the thing closed.... I'll probably alter them. Otherwise, not bad, but probably not good enough for the price.... you can find them cheaper and better I'm sure. The trap door is also not that useful and is only held on by one button, which also comes open......
Wow! I purchased this to replace my two piece thermals for cold weather motorcycle trips. I’m very pleased with how much warmer I stay on my cross country riding now. I’ve used these thermals for two years and they have held up quite well. Since it’s a one piece suit, I no longer experience the unexpected drafts I’d sometimes get out on the road at high speeds. I highly recommend this item to anyone riding motorcycles in cold weather.
