So I've wanted a pair of these since I was a kid. Red in fact. I finally purchased a pair (grey) about a month ago and I could not be more pleased. In all honesty, I wish I had ordered these years ago. They are THE perfect long underwear. They fit great, they are extremely comfortable (not too hot ... not too cold). They have become my favorite thing to change into once I am home and relaxing in front of the TV with a movie. Just being honest. They go from shoveling the driveway to HBO. You can't go wrong. I think it's time for the red pair as well.
Great material. Size down as others suggest (but why?). Fit is snug as expected. Arm and leg length is adequate (a little extra would be preferred). Buttons and holes need to be redesigned. Junk was hanging out after 5 minutes of wearing it. Some people are into this, but I prefer to keep covered while walking to and from the outhouse.
Designers, just take the metal buttons off the Katahdin shirt, duck tape them to this one piece pajama, and everyone's happy. Another option is to use old-school oval buttons that don't come undone as easily. Yet another option is to have someone walk around with you while you wear it and button it up for you when needed. The latter isn't as cost effective but I'm sure LL Bean will figure something out..
Btw, I'm 5'9'', 185lbs, athletic, and the small fit well. Wash in COLD/COLD water and dry on LOW heat. Don't dry on high, unless you want to give them to your wife.
I purchased this two layer union suit for my son. He loves to wear these to bed at night. He says it is better made than any other one I have purchased. Soft,warm, and very comfy to sleep in.
Had to return two of these due to size issues. First one was a large and it was at least a XXL and the second was a medium and it also was to big, particularly in the middle. Quality of material was very good but they are sized way to big for a normal sized adult male.
