I bought this for my nephew for Christmas and he loves it. It could not have been a better winter for it. Washes great, never had shrinkage,color is vivid.
I bought this union suit in November for the winter. After about a month and 2-3 washes I noticed that holes had started to develop in the fabric around the crotch and surrounding areas. At first I thought it may be just an isolated indecent. After another two weeks and one more wash the flap on the back developed a tear/hole of about five inches across! Shortly after that the seams started to come apart from the second button at the bottom ALL THE WAY to the crotch. It just started to disintegrate. Needless to say, I can no longer use it. 50 dollars down the drain.
I am not a heavy person (157 lb.), or hard on my clothes. I wore this mainly while sitting in the backyard or shopping. No heavy activity (I'm 58!).
I should also mention that from the beginning, button holes were SO LARGE that it would not stay buttoned up in the back OR lower front. My wife actually had to re-sew every button hole and still, after one more wash they started to unbutton again! VERY DISAPPOINTED! I expect better from L.L.Bean.
I work outside and in the winter we are still having - working outside in -30 degree weather you need good quality clothing! These union suits are the best I've ever had and I've tried a lot of kinds over 35 years of working out in the elements!!!
