I bought this union suit in red for my dad for Christmas. He can never seem to get warm so I thought this would be nice for him to sleep in and possibly wear under his clothes around the house. HE LOVES IT! He wears it, washes it, and puts it right back on. Even with all the washing, the size has stayed true. He wants another. The suit fits nicely and is warm. I was worried about the wool being itchy, but it isn't at all. The elastic around the ankles and wrists keeps the legs and arms in place even under other clothing. The "trap door" in the back is a little baggy, but I think it is supposed to be that way. I bought the regular length for him as he is around 6 feet tall and it fits him great. This will be on his gift list for next year, I'm sure!
My husband and I own an Automotive Repair Garage. We have 6 mechanics that work in an LARGE, 6 bay shop. not very warm at all. I live in a large loft that's hard to heat, so long underwear is a winter staple. But with 2-piece long johns I'd get a draft up my back whenever I was working on stuff. The union suit has fixed that and become my winter survival suit. It's comfortable and a little thicker than most long johns, which I wanted. I originally got the medium size but switched to small. I'm 5'7" and slim and the small size fits well but is also roomy enough down there so that it doesn't feel cramped.
Purchased this item for my son for Christmas and it was his favorite present! He loves the fit and warmth of the suit; he also enjoys that it does not require special care when washing.
