This is the best thermal underwear I've ever had. The cotton lining means it doesn't itch, and the wool blend outer layer is the warmest. The only note I'd make is that sizes are generous. I ordered an extra large and it was too big (although wearable - it just makes clothes a bit bulky). The large was better, but is still generous - I'd have to gain 50 Lbs for it to feel the least bit tight. If in doubt I'd say order small - it doesn't shrink much if at all. Easy to wash; I tumble dry on medium until almost dry and then hang over the shower bar overnight. This breathes well - you don't start sweating if you in a warm room. Great, great product!
We actually purchased the Union Suit and the Royal Stewart Tartan Flannel Nightgown on the same order. The Union suit was generous in size, but had to be exchanged for a smaller size, which is fine. I guess I'm just a smaller man! The nightgown was supposed to fall at the ankle, and would have if the Missus wasn't 5'9" tall! The QUALITY of both items was phenomenal, but we had to return the nightgown because it was too short. In the future, LLBean should consider offering Women's Sleepwear in Tall sizes. The Union Suit is warm, and will be my sleepwear of choice during these cold winter months.
gave it to my boyfriend for Christmas. He loved it. Very cozy warm for hanging around the chilly house in Minnesota. washing showed no changes in the garment
I got my husband the Two-Layer Union Suit for Christmas this year and to my surprise and delight, he absolutely loves it. He wears it both as pajamas and underwear.
On New Years Eve we attended First Night in Boston and the temperatures were frigid! He was the only one in our group who wasn't cold.
The material is soft and warm and the sizing was spot on. My husband is planning on ordering several more pairs.
